The Water Framework Directive is mainly concerned with the quality of European Waters which also includes river basin management. The priorities are set according to four objectives: ecological status, quantitative status, chemical status and protected area objectives. The areas that might concern more specifically NBS are ecological status and protected areas since NBS can impact positively or negatively these objectives.
